You might remember that I eluded to you that my mom was in town over the Memorial Day weekend to help with some wedding details that I wanted to create. It’s a good thing that she made the trip, because we had a lot of work to do!
First we started off with the table name cards! I have had this idea in mind for a long time, and I was so excited that it was going to workout!! See My family every summer used to travel all the way from Newfoundland, Canada to Siesta Key, Florida for several weeks. This family tradition, you will quickly notice, is a big part of why we decided to have our wedding at the beach… it’s like home to me. And at the beach one thing that we did every year was go free diving for sand dollars!
Surely my family didn’t have time to go to Florida before our wedding and dive for all of these Sand Dollars, so I searched the internet until I came upon the Conch King. I do not know these people, nor am I trying to sell you their business, however if you came across this blog because you are looking for your own sand dollars, this business was fantastic. The Sand Dollars came “stink free” as promised, fast, and with only 3 – 4 slightly broken sand dollars. I went ahead and ordered about 20 more than I needed thinking that there was no way they were going to arrive in one piece… but they did! ANNND the business actually throws in about 10 extra sand dollars themselves just incase there were any unsatisfactory sand dollars! I was very impressed!
After tying the desired length 1/4” ribbon on the sand dollars, I took my purple card stock (60lbs weight) and my new favorite white paper from staples, “linen”, also at 60lbs card stock weight, and started printing guests names. Using “Harrington Font” in purple, all guests names were printed and attached to the ribbon via Double Sided Tape! Seriously double sided tape is Gods gift to DIY wedding planning! The colored card stock went on backside of the front ribbon, and the printed names on the white card stock went on over the top of the ribbon. Double sided tape in the middle like a hamburger!
(Out of privacy for my guests I removed their last names for this post; if making table cards be sure to use first and last names!)

That is a great idea!
Cute idea and your guests could keep them as Christmas ornaments or something to remember the big day, perhaps sharpie the date/occasion on the back?
