For the past year The Boss and I have had a small “tiff” between us. It all started when I told him that I would like to have a pet Bunny. He simply laughed and said no. Period.
I left it alone for a while, and then eventually asked him again. The response was again a simple “No”. I wasn’t making any headway by myself, so I eventually confided in some family members to get their help and advice. Their response wasn’t much better, they even followed up with gag presents of bunny paraphernalia and the such.
Then, this past fall The Boss thought it would be funny to buy “Me” a pet substitute. It was pretty obvious from the beginning that this “pet” wasn’t really meant for me; it was totally his. He would even taunt me with it in the most of inconvenient times!
This particular incident made it’s way to You Tube.
Anyways, it’s been about a year since I initially voiced my want for a pet bunny, and with no bun-bun in sight I’ve had enough. I work from the house and spend a lot of time here alone, and therefore I would like to have a companion through out the day. So I took back my “gift” that was never really fully handed over to me! Now during the days we’ve been doing all kinds of things together!
Since the weather has been so nice out as well, we spent an entire afternoon hanging out!
First we just hung out in a sunny spot. Turns out Sharky likes to read as much as I do!
Then, since he was so well behaved I agreed to take him to the playground in my Neighborhood. He wasn’t too sure about this whole “slide” action and refused to go down without me!
“Weeeeee”
I was surprised by how often we had to take pit stops. Turns out Sharky likes to mark his territory!
Soon enough it was time to head home! It was lunch time after all!
What do you want for lunch?
I was so impressed with my new friend and how well we got along, I even took him along this past weekend to a local running race. The Boss was running, so we took to the course to ring the cow bell!
I wasn’t sure if we were going to be accepted by other cheering squads so we found a nice quiet spot about a mile into the race course.
We both got a little nervous when the police came by first! But he didn’t give us any trouble.
For the most part all the runners were entertained by our presence. Turns out we were pretty much the only cheering squad along the course with a shark! Go figure.
That’s really it for me and the shark for now. I’ll be sure to keep taking pictures as we find new adventures. Until then, if you want to head over to The Boss’s blog and maybe give him some encouragement to come to a floppy eared agreement, I sure would appreciate that!
I even think I’d be more willing to make more free Bakery Treats as giveaways if I had a pet Bunny! What do you think? Is a bunny a good idea? I would give it such a good home!…Mmmm Carrot Cake for Bunny!
Thanks for stopping by!

Oh you SO need a real pet!!!! I think it would be so appropriate if one just...followed you home one day and oops sorry honey I'm just hanging on to him for a little while and...
He's a smart man that Ray.
I am a vote for the NO PETS.
This is a very bunny post.
Think hard before engaging in a long term relationship with a pet.
We have 2 cats and a bunny. The bunny doesn’t like to be touched! He eats and craps his cage the whole day. When he is afraid he’ll stomp against the floor of his cage at 3am to make sure that you know he isn’t happy. Don’t get me started on the cats which are even worse.
It’s always a pain in the … to find a friend or family willing to feed the zoo during our holidays.
My wife adopted the bunny during her college time because she was lonely, and because he was a great moral support during her studying time, we are fair and keep him and treat him gently until his passing away … which is in many many many years!
If you like your holidays and your sleep, think twice :-)
Get a bunny! Guinea pigs are nice too. My elderly cat died last year, and I thought I would wait a long time before I got another one as I travel quite a bit, but it turned out that life without a cat was NOT OK!... I find someone to stay in my apt., or get a student of mine or a prof'l catsitter to stop by to feed him, or for a longer trip will leave him at my kind mother's house...
This is hilarious! And YES, you need a *real* pet! Let's brainstorm! :)
lololololol I loved the post! I've had hamsters, they were cute and pretty small. Recently I had to leave my 10-month old sweet cat, Oreo, behind (with a friend, of course) because we moved to another country. I still miss him. He's so sweet. But it was going to be too much stress for him.
I would advise you to have a cat if you can keep him away from the kitchen! :) I love cats, they're funny and independent, sweet and soft :) and love hugs! At least Oreo loves :)
Love this post! Maybe the boss is just waiting until Easter, a more appropriate time to receive a bunny.
Sharky. Too funny. Reminds me of the Chris Elliot movie "Cabin Boy". :) The bunny idea is cute but look at me just cute doesn't go that far. The ROI of poop pellets just doesn't work. Maybe The Boss would appreciate an Abyssinian. Awesome cat. Like a little cougar with big ears. And they don't meow. :) Good luck with the pet pining. :)
I have to give a presentation in about an hour that I am so nervous about and thank you for this post. It made me laugh and I needed that.
I don't know much about bunnies, but I think you deserve a furry friend. We rescued a dog and he is the best. I'm sure Ray will come around eventually. Maybe you shouldn't let him sample the bakery goods until he does?
Looks like you and the shark are having a great time but I am with you, You need a bunny!
I vote chinchilla.
My old roommate had a bunny, named Bunny, that she kept in her room with her. It was clean and quiet, and occasionally I'd see a something white hop by when I was sitting on the couch and it would make me smile. Bunny was a good pet, I highly recommend the boss reconsider :)
Bahahaha! LOVE your post! It was too funny. I hope you get your bunny! I had one as a kid...and it peed on me....while I was in my pajamas....in bed.
Hi, I've been reading your beutiful blog for a while, and I'm really curious about one thing: Why is that you call your partner "the boss"? I don't mean it in a bad way... In the pictures you look so great together, and the way you support each other's hobbies is really heart warming. I just don't get the nickname...
Hi Emma!
It's funny that you ask. "The Boss" gets asked on his blog all the time why he calls me "The Girl". It's just simply a nickname I game him for blogger talk so I'm not always putting his real name out there in cyberspace. Kinda common for blogs to use such references. And I guess he is kinda the Boss around here! :)
Thanks for reading!
lol.. thanks for a good laugh! i thought i saw Sharky the other day during the run.. didn't realize how active he is. a bunny sounds like a cute idea, but considering how much you guys travel, sounds like you'll need some long term bunnysitters!
Nice shark, those joggers must have been spooked!
Nice shark images, you have to need real pet so Bunny is the best option for you.
