Chocolate Chip Cookies: A Household Favorite

ChocolateChipCookies2WaterMark

I have actually posted this cookie recipe before. However, this cookie is such an overwhelming favorite that I couldn’t let the recipe from the original post get buried into the blog afterworld where nobody would ever see it again! Thus I bring you the glamor shots and recipe (with one tiny update) from my most recent Chocolate Chip Cookie rendezvous!

The most important part of making chocolate chip cookies is baking with GOOD chocolate! And in this case, when cooking for the Boss, one of his favorite chocolates is good ol’ Hershey’s!Hersheys

(My Instagram Photo, I was juggling two cameras!)

While Hershey’s Milk chocolate bars don’t quite rank up there with Ghirardelli chocolate, that is what the man likes in his cookies, so that’s what he gets! Also, large chunks of chocolate. None of this chocolate chip non-sense!

And that’s really all there is! If you want to read a little more detail about these cookies, or you just want to see how the recipe unfolds in pictures click HERE to link to the original Chocolate Chip Cookies blog post. Otherwise just below is the recipe all ready for your kitchen!

The use of chopped chocolate is a great strategy - chocolate chips have less cocoa butter so that they hold their shape during baking, so they're drier than chunks.

See if you can get your hands on bulk El Rey 41% cacao milk chocolate and substitute it for Hershey's without telling your significant other, he might like it even more. It has this delicious caramel and cream flavor and melts wonderfully.

Oh you know what, past few days I've been searching for some Chocolate Chip Cookie recipes.
I've been writing the recipes from Imperial Sugar, Wilton, Nestle, Land o Lakes, Scharffen Berger, etc, etc etc in columns to compare and understand the proportions ... and am surprised with SO many versions and different measurements of similar ingredients for a simple Chocolate Chip Cookie!

Yum! I should use chopped chocolate in my cookies more often, it melts so much better than chocolate chips.

OK, I just have to comment again... I just read your About Me page and I'm pretty sure we're long lost twins! I'm a runner and (former) swimmer and when I started Little Bitty Bakes, I chose that name because my mom used to call me Little Bitty, and I've always dreamed of a bakery that would have that name!

Oh my gosh, that looks yummy and mouth watering. But I have bad cavities right now and I'm pretty sure my dentist in lafayette co would tell me to avoid those. Sad.
